grunion no show [living]

we tried to see the grunions again tonight but they apparently cancelled the meeting. that's how my mother's boyfriend put it. this time we brought along my mom, her boyfriend, twiddle thumbs's little sister (again), and their niece. the only person that went with us last time that did not come tonight was nopalita. so either she's our lucky pig or these new people have bad luck.

belmont shores at night

tonight was not originally scheduled as a run night by the grunion workshop people, however they later emailed us that tonight would be run and gave us the time. we decided to go to a different beach so we went to belmont shores in long beach. perhaps that was a bad choice. it was also quite overcast and the moon and stars were not visible. perhaps the grunions just didn't know the time was right because they could not see the moon. anyway, we got there early at about 9:50pm (high tide at 10:10pm) and left after 11pm. it wasn't the wisest thing to be out on the beach when you're sick but i was bundled up and pretty much stayed put.
