who needs AAA when you have a daughter like me [living]
so i'm sick, first day of period, home alone, trying to recover more files from the laptop when my mom calls. she's got a flat tire and needs to be somewhere in 30 minutes when the place is about a 30 minute drive from where she is. she gives me directions to where she is, i grab a few essential things (water, a scrunchie, and my boots since i'm wearing sandals so if i need to kick anything my feet will be protected), and headed out with the intentions of changing the tire myself. i get there and she wanted me to drive her out to where she needed to be and we'd take care of her car tomorrow. i told her to give me 5 minutes to see if i could change it and if so, she could take my car and i'd drive hers home.
she insists that we call AAA and i insist that it's easy and i can do it. i see she has a spare tire but she doesn't have all the tools required or can't find them because her car is full of crap. so i grab the jack from my car but since i'm being rushed i can't find the tools i need in my trunk. luckily, my mom whips out her own lug wrench. the lug wrench fits. my car jack fits. i give her my car keys and tell her to take off. she tells me that she is low on gas. great. at least we're at a gas station. she takes off and i'm able to change it fairly quickly. as soon as i'm done i give her a call. i have to tell her twice that i'm already done because she can't believe i've changed the tire so quickly. i walk over to the air/water for cars station and rinse off my hands. i get in the car and drive it to a pump, fill it with $20 worth, and head home. at home i grab something to eat and just sit there at the kotatsu, my arms shaking a bit because my body is just worn out from doing physical work while ill.
