war of the sickies [watching]

i am sick. (thanks twiddle thumbs!) i had to stay home today. fever. sore throat. tired. i watched "war of the worlds" (1953) last night and "war of the worlds" (2005) today. both suck. don't waste your money. don't waste your time. the 1953 one takes place in southern california with a pacific tech (we all know it's cal tech) professor as the protagonist. the 2005 one starts off in new jersey. the 2005 remake sucks more in a way because the 1953 one had more of a message. it was showing that mankind fucks itself over but ultimately the earth takes care of itself and its own kind. the 2005 version was let's see if tom cruise can play a role where he doesn't smile 90% of the time and actually tries to show some darker emotion such as crying. enough said. 2 thumbs down.
