ups are liars [screaming]
when my laptop problems started, i ordered an external hard drive so that i could use it to clone my drive and then later use it for backups. i ordered it 2/14, to ship out the next day, and arrive 2 days later. while waiting for it to arrive, i thought i would try my best to restore files off the existing drive, which could be damaged or not. i don't know. that was the point of getting another drive brand new. so that way i could try to restore on a good drive and later try to test my laptop's drive to see if it's damaged. i was so caught up in the restore process that i had completely forgotten when i ordered the hard drive and when it was supposed to arrive. i only knew that it would be soon and someone is home everyday. eventually i couldn't stand waiting any longer and looked up my order, found the ups tracking number, and looked at the shipping details. what i read on their site pissed me off. ups are liars.
2/15 shipped
2/17 arrived at my local ups (who have fucked things up before) and attempted delivery failed because the apartment number was missing then the address was corrected and delivery rescheduled (i do not live in an apartment! i checked my order and my name and address were 100% correct.)
2/20 first failed delivery attempt
2/21 customer requested same day will call
2/28 package was not picked up as arranged; returned to sender

3/1 customer checks ups web site and screams! ups never left me a slip. i never called ups to arrange pickup because i never knew that it had arrived!
i called the company i ordered the hard drive from. they tried to contact ups to reroute it but it had already shipped back to them. i told them to send it to my work because ups has fucked up sending packages to my house before. goddamn i hate ups.
