biblical legos and net circulated photos [geeking]

i have hit upon a couple of interesting sites in recent web surfing. the first one is thebricktestament.com, which is a collection of biblical stories as illustrated by scenes created with legos. priceless. if sunday school was taught this way, if legoland was like this, i think that christianity and religion in general would be more fun. sure legos aren't new but you gotta keep up with the times and if your audience is bored, you lose them. especially with kids these days and how everyone thinks they have no attention span in this age of instant gratification. how did i stumble upon this site? honestly i just wanted to find a site with simplified versions of old testament stories. sorta like something for kids. i wanted to find this because i'm shocked at how little some of my so-called catholic friends know about the bible. actually, i'm not shocked. catholics don't know the bible. they know mary and guilt. that's about it. they have a reader's digest understanding of their religion that is available at every mass they attend right there in the pews. even though it's been almost 20 years since i was taught by missionaries, i still remember most of the stories. that just goes to show you how good they were at brainwashing.

the other site i've come across of note is the photo gallery at snopes.com. i think i've seen the site before but recently i looked all over the photo gallery at the various photos and there were many interesting ones. some i had seen in emails i've received but the majority of them i had not seen before. in the late 1990s i used to look up gruesome photos all the time of point blank suicides and other icky stuff thanks to rotten.com but snopes isn't like that at all. their site is about addressing rumors and urban legends. the photo gallery is no different. each is marked as to whether it is true/false or somewhere inbetween. i looked all pretty much all of those noted as true. some of the ones inbetween i looked at if the description caught my interest. these inbetween ones could be due to the photo being true but the story that went with the photo was altered or untrue altogether.
