architecture geek: towers [thinking]
at the work office we have panorama pictures of a few major american cities. one of them is of seattle. so i was looking at the space needle and started thinking about what towers are out there that look like that--they don't necessarily have to have "tower" as part of their name. there's the stratosphere in las vegas and sky tower in auckland but i'm sure there's more. this towers thing could be another little checklist of things to do while traveling. i started looking them up and there are some buildings with the name "tower" in them but they are just standard office buildings so i won't include them. there is a nice list of such towers at wikipedia. i'll just mention the ones that are over 250m and have an observation deck and actually allow(ed) tourists/visitors. i will list a few under 250m for comparison.
