it started on friday when we had dinner with nopalita and continued through to today. talking about memories we have during the course of our friendship and how what someone remembers, another doesn't and vice versa. the first 1-2 years of being friends with nopalita is a bit fuzzy for me. i've been friends with her for about 8 years which is pretty weird now that i attach a number to it. i don't remember being friends with her during her freshman year at all but i remember her sophomore year. she said that she didn't think i liked her at first and was afraid of me or something. but one day she took a nap in our living room and woke up to a little joke of mine: i put a doll of stimpy by her face and dressed it up like a character from a horror movie that had scared nopalita as a child. once i did that, she said she knew that things were alright. i thought we were friends before i played that joke on her. but you know what, i guess it's true. if i play a joke on you, you know that we're cool.

today twiddle thumbs talked about memories of our 11 year friendship. funny again how one person remembers some things and the other does not. we also talked about other friends we have had throughout the years. i noticed when we would get heated talking about certain people. if you get upset recalling someone, i don't think they're a friend or were ever really a good friend, which is why neither of us talk to such people anymore. the pretentious ones really piss me off though. damn, i'm pissed just typing! time to recall the happy friendships and wonder what ever happened to those people. ah....

reminds me of one friendship in particular. one of twiddle thumbss from elementary school. i moved to japan for 3 years and she moved away too. while still living in japan, we visited america and i caught up with her. later in high school i happened to be at this one shopping complex i never go to, bought an ice cream for my brother or cousin or something and thought an employee there looked just like my friend from elementary school but didn't say anything. somehow i still had her number and tried to call her in college but her family she got married and gave me her new number. we talked only that one time on the phone but she asked if a couple years back i had ever bought ice cream at blah blah blah... oh my god, it was her afterall! so weird. it would be nice if one day i were to run into her again.
