zampa ulfujishi daiko [listening]
went down to little tokyo to the japanese american museum to watch a taiko group from okinawa called zampa ulfujishi daiko (try saying that one westerners!). anyway, so it was more like a mini cirque du soleil or hong kong version of a taiko group. in order to travel internationally, i do realize you have to mix it up. it was just weird to at the end, one of the performers rock out on a rock drum kit as the other members jumped around doing flips and fighting with sticks. twiddle thumbs had the time of her life.
