holiday party [working]

today was my company's holiday party. they have several holiday parties, one for each market. today was the southern california sales market party. i went early to help decorate. i put together the powerpoint presentation the president of the company used. so i got like bonus points with the company lately because i've been in touch training and helping with the presentation. i even sat at the table with all the executives. (but if you were there you'd know there was really no other appropriate place for me to sit.) it was weird but that's how formal work functions go. i always just sit there wondering what to do because you don't want to talk about work and i have nothing in common to talk about with these people. the party was at a hotel very close to me so i was relieved i didn't have to go too far. i'm sure i was the first one home when the party broke up.
