holidays suck ass... [living]

...for some but not usually for me. this year we're making the cards and the presents for as many as possible. we've done it before but this time i really feel like we're putting our hearts and brains into it (and they've got humor too!). so like how we cook for thanksgiving, if they go unappreciated it will hurt a bit but at least i know i tried to please and didn't get some mindless gift like a gift certificate. although i must admit there are a few people for whom i have no idea what to get and they're not helping come up with ideas so might just get a damn gift certificate. gift certificates are really for the best in such situations.

today i finished the design and printing for the holiday cards and the t-shirts (all but 1 or 2). now i just have to put it all together. if i did this earlier, all the presents would give sent off in time but you can't rush great taste and you can't rush inspiration. ironically, it's harder to find the packaging material to send the presents to those far away than it was to come up with gift ideas. the stores are freakin' out of stock, ransacked by last minute gift shoppers. i drove around to a couple targets and managed to get the last scraps. although, by the time everything actually is put together, the gifts will be overdue and the stores and post offices shouldn't be so crowded anymore, except for returns that is, and post holiday sales, and belated people like me, and...
