teenagers in tight pants [living]
tonight i went to a high school football game to watch my cousin play, only he never got to play. i don't think his team changed players the entire game, which sucks for everyone. you should always replace the tired for fresh players. especially since the game went through 2 overtime periods. my grandparents attend all of my cousin's games. this was the first time that my aunt, his mother, was there too. so it's a real shame that we were all there and he didn't get to play. my cousin has always been a big kid and it's weird to think he's finally a teenager because for so many years people that he was a teenager. now he's a 15 year old sophomore and plays on both the junior varsity and varsity teams. in the end, my cousin's team won 27 to 24.
my cousin goes to the high school i graduated from and this was my first time going to one of their games. i'm not a football person--i just don't get it. i've never watched a pro game, been excited about football, or bothered to learn the rules. in high school i liked playing flag football, but i really don't get american football with all the padding, butt-slapping, and breaks between playing. this is the one game that's a perfect example of changing since the advent of television so that it broadcasts nicely, which is pretty lame. perhaps the most perplexing aspect are the tight mid-length spandex pants. yeah, real manly.

my cousin is #66
there really weren't that many people in attendance, which was really shocking to my grandmother. she recalled that when she was in high school, everyone went to the games and the stadium was packed. sorry grandma, but kids these days have tv, movies, internet, video games, etc. in your day there was only the radio. also, my grandmother was one of those cheerleader popular types. me and all my friends were the anti-socials who didn't participate in school activities. except, i was so non-conformist that i wouldn't completely shun the student body types and would show up to some things just to give those popular kids a rattle. i even went to a teenage christian church gathering type thing with one of them. know your enemy.
