torrent bytes [geeking]

i just started looking into bittorrent to see what it's all about. i think i downloaded a program yesterday but it seems like ages ago because the download speed is so freakin' slow! i've looked at tips for increasing speed that required messing with the settings for your wireless router--essentially the firewall is slowing things down so that banana slugs move faster. after doing the first step and losing internet connection completely, i gave up and put things back the way they were, only they wouldn't go back right away. i allowed a few minutes for the settings to kick in but they didn't so i had to reset things a few times before the internets was back on. game on! but oh so slow. maybe when i have my own place with my own dsl i can try the tweaks out but right now i'm just looking into torrents so it's no big deal. there's really not much out there as far as torrents go that interest me.
