job interviews [working]
today i went to a japanese temp agency in gardena. i put in my resume that i can speak japanese and threw it up on job web sites and so i guess they think i'm some japanese lady who married a white guy. uh, not quite, my japanese isn't that good. so we'll see if they have any jobs for me. actually, the interview went pretty well. i did the interview in japanese. then i took their tests and totally kicked ass. i got about 98% on the word test, 100% on the excel, and scored 92wpm for the typing test. that impressed them. so the boss's wife comes out to interview me in english. she lets me know that the boss needs an assistant, that they just decided this a couple days ago and no one in the office even knows that they are gonna hire someone. they haven't worked out the details yet but they know they can't pay what i'm looking for. but if it's a title increase for me, hey that's cool. plus i can carpool with my mom.
when i got home, i talked with this lady who had called me earlier because i applied for this job in cerritos. we made arrangements for an interview on wednesday. the lady seems nice but she's just the human resources person. i'll be meeting with two other ladies. it seems to be another cellphone company. this would also be a title increase and they changed the pay rate so it's a lot closer to what i used to get paid at ucsc. due to all these factors, i want this job.
