belleville rendez-vous [watching]
we netflixed "belleville rendez-vous" (aka "the triplets of belleville") because twiddle thumbs had started watching it while she was in santa cruz and wanted to finish it. it was a really slow-paced, hardly no dialogue sort of animation. not exactly my thing. however, the soundtrack was pretty good, particularly the main song (dvd includes the music video by m), though i didn't feel like it matched well with the animation. there was just something off about the whole thing. i liked the dog though and the attention to detail in animated the motions of his eyebrows.
