the trees were smoking [living]
earlier today we went to the korean friendship bell in san pedro because my brother told me to take twiddle thumbs there before we went to new zealand. i don't know of any particular reason why he would suggest it other than his love of korean culture, of course. for me, i was interested simply because it was a filming location for "the usual suspects."

why did i even bother going to korea when we have slices right here in LA
i dropped off twiddle thumbs at her parents' house and as i was driving home on the freeway i noticed that the trees were smoking. i don't mean that they enjoy tobacco, i mean that i could see smoke coming from the treetops. not just the trees either. the top of the street lamp. nothing was on fire. it confused me. it wasn't just on one side but on both sides of the freeway. most of the smoke was faint and you wouldn't particularly notice it as you drive. but somehow it caught my eye and wouldn't let go. the trees were smoking for a few cities. perhaps it stopped when i crossed over into a different area code. the only reasoning i could come up with was it was smoke to repel/kill insects. but again, i didn't see any fire or flames and the smoke was coming from the very top of the trees. i must be going crazy.
