sneaky little hobbits tricksy us [traveling]
everytime we see the 100% new zealand tourism commercials on tv, twiddle thumbs and i launch a tirade of shouts at the screen, almost as if we were watching "the rocky horror picture show". with all that they imply, they make it seem really nice of course, hell i'd go after watching the commercial. but the reality just isn't there. the reality of the weather--damn cold.
among our shoutbacks:
"it's not like that!"
"no, don't do it!"
"you can't hike wearing that!"
"watch out for the sandflies!"
"you can't drink the water straight from the stream like that!"
"it's too cold to wear a bikini at milford sound!"
"it's only warm enough to do that maybe 1 month out of the year!"
"i never saw horse riding at the beach!"
