just when i thought i had figured out and wiped out all the things infecting the laptop i'm trying to fix, the internets is down! i did notice that it's been slow but now it's beyond molasses, it's a tar pit--making the net experience the pits! pages load slower than they did on a 14.4 modem a decade ago, if they load at all. as i'm finishing up the laptop, i thought i'd connect up my old imac and upgrade it to os x, however i need to download a firmware updater which i cannot do given the current state of the internets. my mom called the dsl company and they're not sure what's wrong--they think my mom must have a virus. man this sucks!
