people who rock out from their bedroom [listening]
not feeling 100% today--all weekend i had this deep down feeling that i might get sick--so i skipped going to the internship and shamisen class today. instead i continued to upload my music files to some free web sites and checked out other home/bedroom/indie artists. (songs from my crappy little experiment album, "litmus test: songs that suck" by kalavinka, are now available at soundclick, acidplanet, and ourmedia.org.) just like the major label acts, you have to weed through a lot of crap before you hit gold. you just have to persevere until you find a nugget like ktutu--an african version (malagsy living in senegal) of system of a down, seriously good, check them out.
in other news, it's now been a few days and if i were to have been hired by that retail interview i did on friday, they would've called by now. this just means that i'm not an actress afterall. i was unable to act stupid in person. one of the first things the interviewer said was that i was overqualified, even though it's only for 10-20 hours per week. what do they care for such few hours? obviously someone applying for it realizes all this--they just need some extra income, or in my case, some income.
