acting stupid really works [working]
the theory my friend and i came up with is correct! by dumbing down my application, i actually got a call today for a retail job interview tomorrow. we'll see how it goes. now i have to work on acting dumb in person yet friendly and responsible enough to be hired. hmm, that will be a tough role. i am not an actress.
in internship news, i just wanted to give a little update. the film we're in pre-production is elizabeth peña's directorial debut. i had previously incorrectly stated that she came into the office because i thought she was pitching a screenplay she wrote. i think she helped to revise it a little but otherwise it's someone else's work. today i was formally introduced to her so that's cool. everytime she comes in she is very nice. you can just tell she's a good person. today i also read a couple of scripts. i guess they're trying to find something to produce. the first script was terrible. it's been done before and there's nothing original about it. the second one is actually pretty good. not a blockbuster, but it could do well in cult circles perhaps--it's a horror comedy. i'm only halfway through the third script. it's hard to say at this point but it was going one way and has taken another turn. not sure if i like this turn, have to follow it through and see where it goes.
