okinawa picnic day [living]
today my mom's work was having a picnic. she works for the okinawa kenjinkai of america which is a cultural group so there were a lot of cultural things like a karate demonstration, eisa dancing, shamisen performance, etc. it was outdoors in a park and i do not do well in the sun. i put on headphones and read a book (got through 75% of it). i let my mom borrow my camera and take as many pictures as she could with her fingers in the shots.
we got there really early so my mom could help set-up. i even helped out. as others ate the bbq meat and rice they paid for, i ate some miso concoction on top of rice that my mom made for me, basically okinawan riceballs not made up into balls.
