forcing audio complements [listening]

twiddle thumbs was gone all day so i ran some errands and worked on my songs some more. not really much to say. the songs are difficult at times because i'm not a vocalist. i made these songs as instrumentals. i tried to make the aural layers engaging and interesting enough on their own. but instrumentals get boring so i've been trying to put some sort of vocals on top. i've been forcing a melody line on top to match old crappy poems i wrote and it's just not working out. also, i can't sing. i either just talk on top or put robot voices from the mac. the vocoder program i have sounds cool in theory but in practice it sucks. blows. just doesn't fit. depresses me. i have to scrap the vocal ideas. the cover songs especially blow. remixes more like it. so i'll forget about ever doing that again.
