once were warriors [watching]

the hostel has a few dvds that you can borrow for free. i decided to take advantage of this and borrowed "once were warriors". i've been wanting to see this new zealand film because it's supposed to be good. "wow". that sums it up. lots of violence.

it starts out as a cheesy 80s-looking thing but the decor of the kids' room suggest early 1990s. actually, the film is from 1994. "fucked up". that sums it up in two words. anything bad that can happen will. just wait for more depressing things to happen. that's because it's a domestic violence film. a dark film, but worth watching. i won't give any more away. it's something to be experienced. some people walked out. they were that disturbed.
