33rd trip: return to wellington [traveling]

we left kaikoura this morning and drove past the ohau point seal colony. you know what, i'm sick of seeing seals. show me something new. we made a little stop in kekerengu and there's nothing to report about that. finally we arrived in picton to take the ferry. the process is like this in case i didn't mention the last time we took it. you check-in your luggage as if you were boarding a plane. you get a luggage claim tag but they never check it. when you pick up your luggage, it goes around on a conveyer belt like at the airport. the ferry you board is no tiny thing but large like a cruise ship. there's a few levels. a place to eat. a bar. a section for kids. arcade games and a movie theater. it's a really boring trip so again i mostly read and slept.

finally we arrived in wellington. yes, we are back! we were dropped off a street away from our hostel because rosemere backpackers is up a hill. the walk up is killer when you have all your shit on your back and your arms are weighed down with even more crap. then of course our room is on the top floor and there is no elevator. sweaty and tired by the time you get up there. there's free internet in 30 minutes blocks if you sign up for it but of course all times are already taken.

let's get our priorities straight: first we had dinner. second we went to the movies. we went to go buy tickets for "star wars" the day it opens. since we're in new zealand, we could be the first ones in the world to watch it. it's playing every hour starting in the morning. we'll probably have jobs by then so we opted for an evening screening. while we're here, might as well see a movie. so we did.
