27th trip: te anau [traveling]
i talked with the bottom bus people and we can leave tonight. i made phone calls to sort everything out. new days for the buses and hostels. we just have to wait and wait and wait. we're not getting picked up until sometime around 6-7pm. so we did some more laundry and cleaned our boots really well. we ate, watched tv, went on the internet some more.

the bus didn't arrive until 7:50pm but i'm glad it did arrive. the driver was bloke. good to see him. there was only one other girl on the bus. she was working on crossword puzzles and we helped her out a bit with them. a young english girl. the first nice one? well, one of the few. during the drive i got to connect my ipod to the stereo system. it was pretty cool to be in the bus at night listening to the creatures "hai", which the english girl and bloke seemed to enjoy as well. the english girl thought it was "intense". we got in to te anau and checked in to lakefront backpackers and said goodbye to the bottom bus. we were put into a full dorm room of 5 people. it has a small kitchenette and en suite bathroom but there is no fridge. really strange to have cooking facility in the room but no fridge.
