skull Projects

Another "project" of mine is to minimize my life and I'm starting off by selling (and a few trades) most of my music collection. For now I am only listing about 200 pieces at a time, otherwise it becomes too much to deal with. If you do not see what you are looking for, then email me which band you are interested in and I'll see if I have what you're looking for. half.com, ebay, amazon.com, lala.com

16th trip: westport [traveling]

nelson_moonset.jpg
moon set over nelson

this morning i got up early enough to still see the moon. two nights ago i watched the moon rise. now i watched the moon set. pretty cool.

we stopped in motueka for breakfast. then we went to kaiteriteri so that people could kayak. we prayed it would rain so we wouldn't be hanging out there all day wasting our time so other people could kayak. it was perfect weather. this was a bullshit stop because you were given the option in nelson to sign up for kayaking and have the company pick you up for a day or an overnight like we did. why does the whole bus have to wait so some people can kayak? there really isn't anything else to do in this town. we waited. 9am-1pm we waited. read by the beach. walked around a kid's playground. used the crappiest internet terminal i have ever used. went to the damn shoreline cafe again.

at the cafe, we both ordered a hummus wrap. this time i wasn't fucking around and had twiddle thumbs order. maybe they understand her accent more than mine. we also just had the free water. our order arrived and i took a couple bites. it tasted really weird. it smelled weird too. i hoped there wasn't cheese. maybe there's cheese? it's odd. twiddle thumbs assured me it was only smelling funny because it was kept next to the other wraps. ok, i'll buy that. then i took another bite. oh my god. i bit into a salami. this isn't the hummus wrap! this is the caesar wrap! FUCK! this is disgusting! i spit it out in horror. i was feeling sick. (i had just visited their facilities because i was still a bit sick from yesterday's milk incident.) we had the wraps switched for the right ones! the hummus wrap sucked too. hardly any hummus on it at all. you couldn't taste it. you could barely even see it. i am not happy with this place at all. avoid the shoreline cafe in kaiteriteri like the plague!

we stopped in murchison for a refreshment/toilet break. the scenery really reminded me of being in wyoming or colorado or something. (singing, "in my quiet mountain town.") with all the money i've spent, i could've done an american road trip! why did i fly all the way to new zealand again? oh yeah, that damn gorgeous scenery in lord of the rings. had to see it with my own eyes. had to escape america for awhile and just take a break from it. learn about other countries and possibly find a new country to move to. gained a much deeper appreciation for american instead.

finally reached our destination, westport. a small nothing town again. got some groceries. made dinner. no big whoop. staying at the tripinn hostel. it's not so bad. except the smell. mold. mildew. i hate that. my bed is right next to the window with a bad draft. it's so cold. my bed as an electric warmer. shhhh. i'll be nice and toasty.
