packing up and moving on [living]
alright, i packed my shit. i have too much shit. we returned the library books. i was in the middle of reading "skeleton crew" by stephen king, another collection of short stories. i'll finish it one day. i didn't even get to glance at the book i checked out on new zealand films. i'll have another chance to learn about them anyway. when i live in christchurch or wellington, i want to rent kiwi films and do my own study of them.
we put our stuff in storage that we're not gonna carry around the country with us. we checked out of the apartment with the landlord. it is very strange to feel 'homeless' again. tonight we stay at dorms in a hostel. walking over to the hostel, we realized we still have too much shit to carry around. when we come back from our bay of islands weekend trip, we'll have to stay in auckland 1 day and leave behind more stuff in storage. but what? that is the really hard part. we've already cut out so much. there's no way i can go hiking with all this weight. i haven't even packed any food! we hung out a bit with alpha tom and went to a bar to have a farewell drink thing. twiddle thumbs bumped into the temp who took over her job. we tried to order some drinks and the bartenderess said, "this is not a cocktail bar, this is a pub!" well fuck you too. damn kiwis, doesn't anyone drink anything besides beer and wine? i had my default, a rum and coke. at least they stock that!

libraries are strange here! the return drop is divided into many categories!
