quidam [living]

strangetree.jpg
this strange tree is real but highly resembles american cell towers disguised as trees

we went to see a cirque du soleil production: "quidam". it's only finally reached new zealand! the first performance was on new year's eve and it will only be here for 1 month and in auckland only. hey, it's a small country.

this was my third cirque show. i'm spoiled because i saw "dralion" first, which i believe is one of cirque's finest works. i've seen several on tv and dvd. it is true that a recorded performance does not come close to the live performance, however it does give a good indication of how good the live performance might possibly be. i had already seen "quidam" recorded and the live performance was much more engrossing, however it is not one of their best. in fact, it's not even a must-see-in-the-flesh show. but i'm very glad i went because it lifted my spirits.

i look forward to returning to los angeles and saving up to visit las vegas and attend the several cirque shows that are in residence.
