bridget jones: edge of reason [watching]

we went to go see a movie to make-up for missing friday movie night on christmas eve...and i had a 2 for 1 coupon! there's only a few choices one has with a coupon. so many of the films are restricted to full-price only. of those films left that one could see at a discounted rate, we've either seen it or would never see it. hence, we picked "bridget jones 2".

i'm not sure i ever saw the first one from beginning to end all the way through in one sitting. i've watched bits and pieces of it on tv and i think those bits comprise the whole. it was alright. some funny parts but not all over funny. i think i laughed a lot more during this sequel. the characters were kind of caricatures. they just accentuated the basics or reduced them down to basics! however you want to see it.

at one point, when bridget goes to jail, i thought the movie just fell on its ass. it's like, hold it, something's gone wrong here. how are you gonna write your ass out of this one? i mean, how can you possibly save the film from this point? it did a so-so job. i just think it took a wrong turn never really climbed out of the hole it dug. is that enough bad clichés? good. now you get how bad the film was. but i laughed! i enjoyed myself for 90 minutes or however long the film was. when you're on the other side of the world and without dsl or cable television, you savor your moments in the cinema. at least i do. there's just something about watching a film in a theater proper.
