nuthouze band [listening]

wing chun jim d. on guitar
just came back from seeing james duval play in a band called antoneus maximus and the nuthouze band. the show was definitely not my music but i still had fun because jimmy is such a nice guy. i got to talk to him after the show and all i can say is that he's a gentleman. told him it was my birthday and got to take a picture with him. he sorta remembered me from when we met 3 years ago at coachella.
the nuthouze band is a party shake your booty kind of band. totally not what i would picture jimmy playing. you know, the kind of music where the guitar player is NOT necessary. 2 keyboards, drums, bass, sax, loads of singers/mcs. in fact, antoneus maximus was not there. i was like what the fuck?!, isn't it antoneus maximums AND the nuthouze Band? actually it reminded me of when dave navarro joined the red hot chili peppers. not my kind of music, but for musicians, to play what you normally do not listen to really broadens your ability.

clap your hands, stomp your feet
the floorspace inbetween the tables and stage was packed with people dancing. that's not what i call dancing though. i'm still goth at heart. to me that kind of dancing is like you have ants in the pants or something. celeb spotting: at the table sitting next to me were jimmy's ex- sarah lassez and mr. dirty dancing patrick swayze.
