super downsize me [watching]

i finally watched "super size me". i enjoyed the bonus footage on the dvd of the filmmaker having a conversation with the author of "fast food nation". i didn't read that book, though. my decision to become vegan is not related to the aforementioned works but becoming vegan helped me to enjoy the film and the bonus dvd conversation and to seriously ponder about food as a health issue and as politics.

watching gross health neglect, especially where food is concerned simply sickens me these days so it can be quite hard at times to watch parts of "super size me". after the filmmaker went through all that, then cleansed himself by being vegan for two months, how could he stray from veganism and return to meat when his girlfriend is a vegan chef?! that's the part that drove me batty. if i even knew a vegan chef, i sure as hell wouldn't go back to meat/dairy. but his choice in these matters is his own. we are on different paths.
