gente! [living]
the knott's gang went to el festival de la gente today in boyle heights (east LA).

walking to the festival, saw this call box--guess what's missing?
6th street was closed off, including part of the bridge. there were booths of vendors, food, and entertainment--a stage for live bands and a wrestling/boxing ring for wrestling.

when else do you get to sit in the middle of a LA street?
the festival was a lot smaller than i thought it would be. actually, i don't know what i was expecting. there are some activist/parody with a latino/hispanic/chicano/mexicano slant to them that i have been wanting to get ever since i saw them at the LA county fair. i was able to get a few.

me and a friend
i bought a book on my favorite printmaker, jose guadalupe posada. it is by artemio rodriguez, who had a booth at the fair. he autographed it for me. very cool. i'm amazed at people who still work with their hands. everything seems to be mass-produced these days that it's great to see people carry on with handicrafts.

who said i made a deal with the devil? where the hell did you get that idea!
