from the east side to the west side of utah [traveling]

view from the hotel room

this morning we had breakfast at the holiday inn restaurant: oatmeal and potatoes. then we drove to monument valley. during the drive, there were many cool rock formations. we slowed down and stopped once to take pictures. monument valley isn't far at all from kayenta. it's just over the border of arizona in utah. it was very windy. red dust everywhere. it gets in your mouth. fun!

more american than...

we drove back towards kayenta and towards tuba city, but not all the way back. we cut towards page, arizona and stopped there to eat at a small mexican restaurant called zapata. i had veggie fajitas--good but too salty. then we drove straight into utah and the sunlight hitting the mountains was beautiful.

we headed toward zion national park. we drove through the east entrance and exited at the south entrance into springdale, utah. we stayed at cliffrose lodge. 1 room, 2 queens. no internet :(
