we are family [living]

waltons.jpg
we are family, couldn't you tell?

right after work, twiddle thumbs and i went over the hill to meet some family members of mine. my dad's cousin (paternal side) lives in the bay area and i have never met him. in fact, none of us in california on my grandfather's side (he's not from here originally) have seen this guy in 30-40 years, which completely rules out me. while i'm still in the area, i want to meet him so i searched for his email address online and made contact. his name is ray and he is the coolest guy. correction, him and his partner are the nicest, most coolest guys. i'm really glad i got to meet them. ray has been taking care of his mother ever since his father died. i got to meet his parents when i visited georgia almost 10 years ago exactly. i stayed at their house. it was an experience. ray's sister, husband, son and wife and 3 children were there too. it was quite a family gathering. there was a little celebration for carol's birthday, complete with cake.

after that, we went back to santa cruz to gather to celebrate a friend's birthday. el prind's life is over--he's thirty! it seems like only a few months ago that i wrote in this blog about celebrating his previous birthday. time really has gone by quick.
