today was my last day at work. it started off with the 'breakfast club'--quarterly gathering of chemistry office workers, past and present, for breakfast, usually at zachary's. i had the basic tofu scramble thing. then i had lunch with professors joe bunnett and bakthan singaram at miramar fish grotto. i had a garden burger and iced tea. both professors have always been very nice to me. they both tend to pay attention to me for my being able to speak japanese. whenever they have japanese visitors, they always bring them my way. in the afternoon, we had cake in the office. there were 2 carrot cakes for regular folks and 1 vegan chocolate mocha cake from black china bakery, yum!

in the evening, dani came over and helped a lot with packing, replacing the light cover in my room (i'm too short to reach!), taking down the tv from the wall mount, and carrying heavy stuff in general. thanks dani!
