cleanliness is godliness [living]
i washed my car today. it really needed it. it actually needed it before i moved down to LA but i figured it'd get dirty on the drive down so i should just wait. then i got busy. i finally took the time out to scrub it today. didn't have time to wax though. my mom has a spray to get rid of marks caused by bugs and tree sap. i tried it but it didn't work. i've got a couple small sap marks from summer 2003. the spray got rid of some other marks, which were probably bugs, but the sap just wouldn't budge.
i also cleaned out all the trash from the car. there wasn't much but i had a huge pile of empty water bottles behind my seat. there must have been at least 20 of them. it's really hot in LA and i keep taking bottled water to drink in the car and i keep tossing the empties in the back because no one sits there.
now i need to tackle some other repairs. there's that mirror issue from a couple years ago when twiddle thumbs smashed it. (i put one of those temporary mirrors but it's like a funhouse mirror and i need a new mirror housing. twiddle thumbs's uncle called it a "mexican mirror".) and the key marks from years ago when my brother drove the car. (twiddle thumbs's brother says he knows how to fix this.) and the yellow streaks on the bumper from when my mom drove the car. and the white streaks on the bumper that i put on the car. (i tried one of those sponges but it didn't work on any of the marks.) and what appears to be paint chipping away from years of sea salt air of santa cruz. oh, and of course the missing antenna thanks to the auto car wash incident. (i never listen to the radio hence i never got a new antenna.) and the cracked light from when there was a french passenger. (something always goes wrong, read as accident, when there's a french passenger or i talk to a french person just before i drive.) this car has personality!
