skull Projects

Another "project" of mine is to minimize my life and I'm starting off by selling (and a few trades) most of my music collection. For now I am only listing about 200 pieces at a time, otherwise it becomes too much to deal with. If you do not see what you are looking for, then email me which band you are interested in and I'll see if I have what you're looking for. half.com, ebay, amazon.com, lala.com

an evening with siouxsie 4 [listening]

last night we went to our 4th and final night of siouxsie (the creatures). again it was at the house of blues in hollywood. security was very tight. i guess they were pissed with how many cameras got in the night before. again there were two staff with wands. i had a bad feeling about both. i knew i was gonna get caught. the staff made me pull out stuff from my purse. the first thing i pulled out and put on the table was my wallet. i didn't realize my wallet chain went into the staff's cup of water until he said something like "you just messed up my water!". actually, the water was gone and it was just a cup of ice, very little ice at that. immediately i apologized and he said that chains are not allowed. then he put the metal detector in my purse. i knew i was a goner. i saw him do that to others. he asked if i had a camera. i didn't answer, just said "that's my ipod!" he kept asking about a camera. i said that i was taking pictures earlier today but i couldn't remember if my camera was still in my purse. hey, that is a kalavinka thing to do. anyway, he got down to the mini disc player and i said, there's my camera! ok, i have to go back to the car. i didn't want him to realize it was a recording device. he said if the line was long i could just go back up front and he'd let me through. so i went back to my car and left my entire purse there, except i took with me my wallet, cellphone, paper and pen. the pants i was wearing didn't have pockets i could trust. i really wanted to wear my wallet chain but didn't want to risk upsetting the staff member and having to go back to my car. i went under the rope to get in to the front and no one questioned me. i could've went straight to the ticket person but no, like a good girl i went up to the staff member and told him i was back. i put my stuff on the table and he didn't even look at it. i totally could've had some contraband and he wouldn't've known. fuck man... that's ok. i took care of business the night before.

since we got in so late so again, there was no chance of being in front. again, i've had more than my fair share of siouxsie encounters and being up close in smaller venues than the fucking house of blues so it was ok that i wasn't up front. let someone else have their share. again we went up to the second floor, but this time we were cramped in a corner on the left side of the stage. there were a couple moments when siouxsie looked up to the second floor, otherwise she was singing to the fans in the very front. the times when siouxsie looked up in my direction, i really felt like she was looking right at me the first few times and i was just like an animal caught in headlights. for a split moment, all body functions ceased. it was an incredible sensation. siouxsie still gives me the chills.

the crowd was rowdier last night than before. this seemed to piss siouxsie off. they didn't play as many songs. someone threw his drink (plastic cup) at the stage, just when the band was coming back for an encore. the liquid got all over sioux and she was so fucking pissed that she waited until the crowd pointed out the guy and she insulted him, calling him a "fat, ugly motherfucker" over and over again. then she had him kicked out. later, some woman jumped on stage. she wanted siouxsie to be excited that she was wearing a siouxsie shirt but siouxsie was like, "i don't fucking care. get off the stage. i have a show to do!" it was so cool. god, i love siouxsie. i half expected her to say, "i'm not fucking morrissey" or something like that. those moments were so cool. i kept impersonating siouxsie as i left the gig. "you fat ugly motherfucker!" damn i love her accent, attitude, everything!

after the show finished, i rushed down to the stage but so many fans were there. a staff member threw some setlists and that was it. others snatched them up and they closed the curtains. not even 1 chance at talking to leonard. denied again. well, that was it. goodbye siouxsie and budgie. i don't know how many years it will be until i see you again. i love your music and live performances. *kisses*
