the king is alive [watching]

i just watched my second dogme movie from netflix, "the king is alive". wow, what a strong, emotional, dark film. i don't want to talk about it and ruin it. you just have to watch it. i will only say the basic description that you'll come across anywhere: a group of people get lost in the desert.

this film is mostly in english so i didn't have to constantly stare at the screen and lose track of what was going on. except, i put on the subtitles after i couldn't understand something one of the british characters said because he mumbled--turns out it wasn't vital. during some parts of the film, i felt like the dogme rules were bent or broken, but there was no confession of dogme sins with this film as there was with "mifune". that's ok though, i really like the films 'unplugged' movement.
