roger & me [watching]
i was interested in what other films michael moore has made so i netflixed "roger & me", his first documentary. i wasn't that into it. as it was his first film and he was not previously a filmmaker, it could account for my lack of interest. though it was about a topic that is still relevant today, perhaps it just wasn't topical enough for me being that the film takes place in the late 1980s. at the time, i was much more concerned about the fall of the berlin wall and going to my first concert. the disturbing image that remains with me is the rabbit lady. i just can't get the butchering out of my mind. (un)interesting side note: in the late 1980s i did eat rabbit in michigan--tasted like chicken.
