mifune [watching]
i finally watched a dogme 95 film, mifune. at first, i thought it would be boring but at the end i was thinking, 'wow, that was really good'. there was just something about it--all the characters pulled off well in the end. listening to the director's commentary, he was saying how ending a film is the hardest to do and that it's nice to end it with love if the characters were strongly put together. in brief, i think the film was a nice message to just be yourself, accept yourself, be in truth with yourself, and you will find/achieve happiness. i put on my netflix list, all the dogme films that are available, in chronological order. there are some dogme films i really want to see that are simply not available. earlier this year i came across a summer course in scandanavia that is about the current film movements, such as dogme. it sounded fantastic but i simply haven't the funds for such educational endeavors. getting out of here and traveling comes first. then in a couple years, if such a course is offered, i would like to take the opportunity to study such films and visit scandanavia.
