the russians came and went [working]

here's a rundown of my day. i spent most of my time helping out with the russians. at work, there was a visit of over 60 russian researchers. in the morning i helped direct them, then i was a bell hop loading and unloading luggage. in the afternoon i was a photographer and took pictures of a reception and some lab tours. it was really strange to hear all these people speaking russian and not know what was going on. eventually they did say a word that i remembered from my russian class 10 years ago. i also got to use my crap russian on some real russians, not just fellow students of russian. except, now i can only remember two sentences: "my name is" and "the russian language is very difficult". it made them laugh though.

in fish news, the new fish have eaten all the tetras! last night i noticed that the neon tetra was dead. when i got a closer look, i realized it had been partially eaten. i scooped out its body before they could desecrate it further. i then saw one of the other tetras but could not find the third. i searched and searched but could not find it nor a corpse. this morning, i realized they had now eaten all three tetras.

i want to add some red streaks to my hair for graduation but i had a failed streaking attempt. i thought that only my roots would take to the dye as the rest of it is dyed black, which is quite impenetrable. it was that, but worse. the dye spread across the roots so it looks like a haphazard roots only dye job. it's ok, i'll fix it tomorrow.
