i had to cut the divider a bit so that it would fit in the tank. i feared cutting it too much and leaving a gap that fish could swim through, so i didn't actually cut it enough. i put the divider in at an angle that actually creates a bit of a gap near the top. it's too small for fish to fit through, so i thought! i found one of 'the bloods' in algae fish territory--the most vicious of the gang at that. i re-adjusted the divider and placed the filter and heater close to it so that the tiny gap was blocked.
