new york trilogy [reading]

i've been reading "the new york trilogy" by paul auster. it is a collection of three short stories. we had to read one of the stories, "city of glass", for a class i took last year. i wanted to finish the book because i have a lot of books on my shelf that i need to read and i recently read the second story, "ghosts". i think i liked "city of glass" better than "ghosts" but it's still not my thing. i have just begun the third story, "the locked room", and i really like it. there is a melancholy about it that i really like and also a romantic air. i suppose i've been in a melancholy mood of late. i hope that the rest of the story does not disappoint. the cover of the book notes that the author wrote "timbuktu". i don't know anything about it but maybe i'll add it to my list of things to read.
