there was a really stupid girl at the signal today in front of cabrillo community college. i was second in the lane to make a left turn at a signal that has a separate light for the left turn lane. i waited two whole light cycles and knew the light would never change to green because i could tell that the car in front of me wasn't activating the sensors. we were at a signal that i never have problems with. the car in front of me was at a slight angle. if she would only pull forward a bit. as i was thinking these things, the driver, a young girl student type, suddenly got out of the car and walked over to talk to me. she told me she has been waiting 10 minutes and she thinks the light is broken. she is wondering what she should do and who she should call. i told her she should just go when she has a chance. she said she would but that i am right behind her. are you an idiot? don't go in reverse! just make the left turn! she got back into her car and instead of turning left, went forward. why did you wait 10 minutes in the turn lane if you're not going to turn? as soon as she left and i pulled forward to the line, properly to trigger the sensors, the light turned to green. i mean IMMEDIATELY! it was very fast. it was so fast, we laughed about it because the girl was really stupid. why didn't she pull forward just a little bit and why didn't she just make the turn anyway? too good to run a red light and too stupid to get out of the turn lane. she must be a cabrillo student! only community college kids in santa cruz could be so dumb. :P
