what a day [living]
i stayed home from work in the morning because my stomach still felt a little bit funny and i didn't want to take any chances. on the way to work, i got a flat tire. i wasn't sure if i got a flat tire but as i was on a curve, i started to loose control of the car. i didn't hear any tires make noise, the car seemed level, and i didn't want to be late to work or call them and have them think i was telling them some bullshit story so i drove all the way to work. when i parked, i looked at my tires and saw that one looked only halfway full. not good but i'll have to deal with it when i get off of work! so after work i changed the fucking thing myself. no one offered any help. this happened once before. years ago, i got a flat tire on campus and changed it right after work without anyone stopping to help, even though co-workers passed by! luckily twiddle thumbs was there and she knew what to do, so she directed me as to what to do and i did all the work. with that experience under my belt, i was able to put on the spare today all by myself, even though it's many years later, a different car and a different job. it wasn't bad at all. the hardest part was trying to get the hubcap off. i checked the punctured tire and found a little piece of metal in it, almost like the end of a screwdriver.
i drove to costco to have the tire replaced or fixed since i bought it there and they have a warranty. i didn't have the receipt but they looked up my purchase from one year ago and fixed the flat for free. i'm glad i didn't have to buy a new tire. i really need to stop wasting money and save every little bit possible.
when i finally got home, i checked the mail. my passport arrived. it was sent regular mail, nothing special at all. the bastards, after paying the rush fee, what if something happened to it in the mail?! that fucking rush fee, another waste of money. it's depressing. looking at the new passport, it's again another horrible picture where i look like a criminal or a lunatic. maybe in ten years i will have a better looking passport picture.
