i love me some fried rice [ingesting]

i made japanese food for dinner tonight. it's been a really long time since i've cooked cabbage japanese sautéed style. i also made some fried rice. i haven't sautéed cabbage in so long that i messed it up by slightly over salting it. i have strayed from hardcore veganism a couple of times since the change. this has been for snacks (powdered cheese flavored rice chips) and i had to stray again to make dinner because so much of japanese food calls for dashi no moto, which is made out of bonito. you have to put it in fried rice, you just have to. at least that's still my thinking on the matter because whenever i tell my mom i made something japanese and she'll ask me what ingredients i used, she'll yell at me for not using dashi no moto, dismissing what i made, saying it's not tasty without dashi no moto (oishikunai). sometime soon i'll try to make it without dashi no moto and see how it comes out. it should be fine.
