today we grilled corn and zucchini for dinner. we tried a combination of different seasonings to figure out what we like since we've never grilled vegetables before. seasonings we tried: salt/pepper (a must), olive oil (a base), rosemary (subtle), parsley (great!), homemade teriyaki (not spectacular), umeboshi vinegar (intriguing), garlic powder stuff (interesting).

it is so fucking hot today. not just was hot, is hot! it's past 11pm and my living room is 81 F. the news said that santa cruz was 93 F today, beating the record of 85 F from 1965. cities all over the area beat all previous heat records. it was scorching!
