tonight, twiddle thumbs and i went to see the shoghaken ensemble, who are an amazing ensemble of musicians, at the rio theatre in santa cruz. all of the musicians were masters. i was highly impressed with the kanon (zither) player karine. i am too blown away to describe the experience. i only wish that i could see them perform again.

cds were for sale at the show and i bought the "armenia anthonology" cd. the singer/ud (lute) player hasmik and karine were in the lobby and i was able to get hasmik to sign the cd for me. the cd didn't contain two of my favorite pieces from the performance, "antarayin tsayner" and "yarkhooshta", so i went to the traditional crossroads website to buy more of their music. i was really excited to see that the site also sells night ark, as i have been wanting to hear projects that arto tuncboyaciyan plays in.
