panic attack [living]
i've noticed that this week i feel fine in the morning, but then in the afternoon i get a major headache. i feel like the building i work in has very stale air. i constantly feel like i need a fresh breath of air. today was the worst headache yet. about 1.5-2 hours after eating lunch, i felt like the food i ate was ever-expanding in my stomach. each minute, i felt more and more full. i felt hot and nauseated. i couldn't breath. i could only take short breaths and i didn't feel like it was enough air. i couldn't stand it anymore and started to freak out. i needed some fresh air quick. i also wanted to just lay down but there was nowhere to lay down. i went outside for a few minutes and tried to breath cool air but it didn't seem to help. i put my arms on metal railings to cool down my skin and alleviate my overwhelming feeling of hotness, but that didn't help much either. after that, i just couldn't concentrate on anything. i tried to get some work done but didn't accomplish much. after work, i went home and took a nap. i feel much better now. i am really surprised at what happened today because i have never freaked out like that before.
i'm not sure why i've been feeling sick this week. it has been cold and i haven't been dressing warm enough. sometimes i feel my face and my nose is practically frozen. i easily get intense headaches from being cold and those headaches don't go away easily. however, this doesn't explain my feelings of nausea and desiring fresh air. also this week, i've been having a runny nose, usually in the morning. this morning i was sneezing a lot, but again, only in the morning. earlier i thought this might be a seasonal allergy but i just don't know anymore. i work in a building with many chemicals in the air. even if it's supposed to be safe, i know something is wrong because of changes in health/body function that have occurred in me and others i know. there are nose/throat issues. perhaps something is being used in the building this week that is making me feel sick in this new way. or something is being used at the construction site close to our building and the toxins have reached our air supply, (it was really bad when they tarred the roof). the stink of fertilizer was also very overwhelming today, but i don't think that particular smell has ever made me sick before. i also thought that perhaps there might be a food allergy issue at play. i ate a sandwich with a pecan patty for lunch and i don't ever recall eating pecans before. i don't eat nuts/seeds in general. maybe i am allergic to pecans--i don't know. there is another possible reason for feeling ill. i could have my computer monitor resolution set too large so that the fonts display too small. perhaps my eyes are being strained and it is causing the headaches. all of these possibilities seem valid to me and my sickness was probably a combination of things. next week i am going to experiment with different monitor settings to see if that helps.
