neon tetra down [domesticating]
last night, one of the neon tetras looked a bit less neon. he didn't seem to have much color to him. he's the smallest one so i always try to make sure he eats during feeding time. he was hiding behind some plants so i was concerned. you just kind of know when they're going to die. i stayed up and he was dead after midnight. after i scooped him out, i inspected his body. outside of the water, his colors seemed just fine--they were really bright. i didn't notice anything strange. maybe it was internal. maybe he starved. maybe he was just old. i don't know.
