bad choice [ingesting]

when my grandparents visit in june, they will be staying in los gatos. so, i have been looking around the internet, trying to find a restaurant that we can have dinner at. i'm picky about this. due to their age, i don't want somewhere too noisy or too dim. also, because my 13-year old cousin will be coming as well, i want a place that will not be too pompous or pricey, with food that he will want to eat. oh, and they must have at least 1 vegetarian dish for my new lifestyle. weighing all the factors, i don't think we should eat at any asian restaurant. i'm tired of going to mexican restaurants. it sounds too common to go to an italian restaurant, but i think it may work out best in the end if we go to an italian restaurant. however, most of the italian restaurants in los gatos are closed on mondays and i wanted to try someplace tonight.

i started writing down possible choices yesterday and i think that i got a bit confused after reading so many restaurant descriptions. i went to steamer's grillhouse to have dinner. they did not have a single vegetarian meal. i could've ordered a salad and asked them to remove the meat, but i didn't want to seem cheap in such an expensive place, (much more expensive than i thought it would be). my friend ordered the chicken pasta dish, minus the chicken and cheese, with a side of roasted vegetables. i didn't want to repeat everything my friend said because i hate wasting words, so i told the waiter that i want something quite similar, except instead of a side of roasted vegetables, i would like a side of sautéed spinach. when he returned with our food, all he brought me was the spinach. i was very confused because i was expecting to have the pasta too. so he went to place the order and returned fairly quickly with pasta for me.

my overall experience: food alright, atmosphere is not my scene at all (it's for those who make $100,000+ a year)--will not return.
